I am excited
when I hear the children use Spanish
spontaneously from what they learned
in their lessons. The kids look forward
to it [Spanish class], the parents
are pleased, and I am happy to have
the opportunity to offer it.”

Wee
Amigos - Spanish for Preschoolers
“Learning a foreign language in preschool
can boost brain development.” (Hartford Chronicle,
July 2005).
The Wee Amigos Program is a Spanish program specially
designed for children ages 3-6 years old. Children
are engaged in lessons that use games, movement,
music and art to encourage communication and interactions
in Spanish.
Wee Amigos programs are conducted at preschools
and daycare centers and can be offered as part
of the curriculum or as an after school activity.
Why Teach 3-6 year olds SPANISH?
Exposure to a second language at a young age can
influence language development as well as impact
the development of concepts in math, science and
thinking in general. Research has shown that even
small amounts of second language instruction help
build brain power and cognitive skills and enhance
creativity and complex problem solving.
Other Key Benefits:
- Enrich mental development
- Boost vocabulary
and brain development
- Increase understanding
of the English language
- Raise self-esteem
- Improve awareness of other
cultures and customs Increase
- listening skills
Children get excited to participate and learn
Spanish in a fun, relaxed environment. Exposure
to culture and customs is incorporated to provide
an enriched second language experience.
